Art in the Shadow of a Tower

“Art is a vision of some beautiful catastrophe—a possibility of some wild accident which happens. . .”

Edgar Miller, Chicago Literary Times 1, no. 14 (October 1, 1923)

The Backstory

While the image of the water tower in Chicago is notable and unmistakable, the story of the Normandy House and artist Edgar Miller is sadly…fading.

Artist’s Commentary
This is an image that is beautiful because of its imperfections.  Light leaks, edge fog, and double exposure (or some combination) created an “accident” that is perfect.  The story that I discovered is wonderful as well.
